Job Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Rotating Schedule
Location: Baton Rouge, LA 70806
Pay Rate: $50.00/hr
Shift: 7a-7:30p or 7p-7:30a
Type: 60-Day Assignment
Job Overview:
AMMON Healthcare is recruiting Registered Nurses (RNs) to work at a behavioral healthcare facility in Baton Rouge. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral health conditions while promoting a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Rotating Schedule (7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a options available) 60-Day Assignment:
-Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
-Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday
Requirements:
- 15+ year of nursing experience (behavioral health or med-surg experience preferred
- Unencumbered Louisiana RN license
- Active BLS certification
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and nursing standards.
- Complete patient assessments and monitor physical and mental health status throughout treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Respond appropriately to psychiatric and medical emergencies using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
- Document patient care, assessments, medications, and treatment plans accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor patient safety, identify changes in condition, and communicate concerns to the treatment team.
- Educate patients and families on medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, HIPAA requirements, and professional nursing standards.
- Foster a respectful, therapeutic environment that supports patient recovery and dignity.
