Job description

The Behavioral Health RN provides compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing psychiatric and behavioral health challenges. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications, and offering leadership during shifts to ensure the delivery of quality patient care. The Behavioral Health RN operates with empathy, dignity, and respect while supporting treatment goals in a collaborative healthcare environment.


Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing and patient assessments
  • Develop and implement patient care plans tailored to behavioral health needs
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and notify physicians promptly
  • Administer medications according to hospital policies and protocols
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing and support staff effectively
  • Ensure adherence to nursing policies and procedures
  • Support treatment-plan goals and provide high-quality patient care
  • Assist with group sessions, close observation, meal supervision, and other behavioral health activities
  • Interact with patients using empathy, dignity, and respect
  • Communicate with families and external organizations as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience
  • Behavioral Health experience required or preferred
  • CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days
  • De-escalation certification required or must be obtained within 30 days

Pay

  • Salary: $70,000–$87,000/year (Based on Experience)
