COMPENSATION
Annual Pay Range: $75,689.78 - $ 96,108.46
Hourly Pay Range: $36.389318 - $46.205988
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.
JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clackamas County's Behavioral Health Division (CCBHD) is seeking two collaborative and adaptable Limited Term Mental Health Services Coordinators to support the Behavioral Health Housing Retention Team, a joint program between Clackamas County Behavioral Health and Housing and Community Development. These positions are part of Clackamas County's Mobile Crisis Response Unit.
This role focuses on care coordination, outreach, and system navigation to help individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges stabilize and connect with appropriate services and community resources. These positions work closely with behavioral health providers, medical partners, housing agencies, and other community organizations to ensure individuals receive timely, coordinated support that promotes stability and recovery.
The Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is a multidisciplinary behavioral health team that provides timely, compassionate crisis response services throughout Clackamas County. The team partners with law enforcement, emergency medical services, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to assess behavioral health crises, provide de-escalation and stabilization support, and connect individuals to ongoing care using person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
The most competitive candidates will have experience supporting individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), substance use disorders (SUD), and behavioral health crises, along with a strong understanding of community behavioral health systems. Ideal applicants will bring experience providing care coordination, crisis response, outreach, and de-escalation services while collaborating with multidisciplinary partners. Candidates who can help develop behavioral health response plans and provide guidance to community partners on mental health response strategies will be highly competitive.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) as established by the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO) at the time of hire

A Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) means a person delivering services under the direct supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Profession (QMHP) and meeting the following minimum qualifications as authorized by the Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA) or designee:
(a) Bachelor's degree in a behavioral sciences field; or
(b) A combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training or experience.

• A minimum of three (3) years of related experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position.
• At least one (1) year of this experience must include providing behavioral health services to an adult population.

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) I, II, III
• Experience working within a mobile crisis response environment
• Experience providing housing-related care coordination, housing stabilization, or housing retention services to individuals experiencing behavioral health or substance use challenges.
• Knowledge of mental health, substance abuse, legal, medical, social, and/or housing resources in the community
• Experience working collaboratively with community partners, collateral service providers, law enforcement agencies and co-workers

• Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
• Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check
• Driving is necessary for County business. For position(s) with occasional/incidental driving, incumbents must possess a valid driver's license. TYPICAL TASKS

• Provide care coordination and connect individuals to medical, mental health, substance use, and other supportive services.
• Partner with allied agencies, landlords, and housing providers to coordinate services that support housing stabilization and retention.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with division standards and procedures.
• Train community partners to recognize mental health symptoms and use effective de-escalation strategies when responding to behavioral health situations.
• Conduct outreach, engagement, and de-escalation with individuals on the caseload and develop behavioral health response plans to guide supporting teams.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position works 40 hours during an alternate work week, working 10-hour shifts four (4) days a week, from 8:00am-6:30pm.
Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
The available work schedules are:

• Monday through Thursday
• Tuesday through Friday

This position is designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location. As the team grows, hybrid schedules may be considered.

The Behavioral Health Division provides licensure supervision to all regular status employees who have completed a Graduate degree in a behavioral science-related field (social work, counseling, clinical psychology, etc.), and is actively pursuing licensure in that field.
There may be options for loan forgiveness while working with a government/public agency with the Public Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
This is a full time County position represented by the Employees' Association.
