Job description

Step into a dynamic and meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Behavior Intervention Specialist in a collaborative educational setting near Maple Grove, MN. This full-time, onsite role spans the 2025-2026 school year, running from September 8, 2026, through June 10, 2027. Each workday generally covers 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

In this position, you’ll partner with another Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator to serve 3-4 school sites. Assignments will consider commuting distance to the extent possible. You’ll play an integral part in ensuring students receive the behavioral support and interventions they need to thrive and grow.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Background as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) OR licensed Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 license required for SpEd Teacher applicants)
  • Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
  • Familiarity with implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
  • Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
  • Ability to provide staff training on behavioral strategies
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and progress monitoring
  • Capacity to remain calm and flexible during crisis situations
  • Understanding of state and federal requirements related to special education
  • Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are not qualified for this role
