Job description

Job Summary

The BCBA is responsible for providing high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. The BCBA conducts assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, supervises behavior technicians/RBTs, trains caregivers, monitors progress, and ensures ethical and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA), skills assessments, and intake evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs.
  • Create behavior intervention plans (BIP) and skill acquisition programs.
  • Analyze client data regularly and adjust treatment goals as needed.
  • Conduct reassessments and progress reports according to payer requirements.
  • Ensure services are medically necessary and meet funding source guidelines.

Supervision Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and behavior technicians.
  • Conduct competency checks and performance evaluations.
  • Provide modeling, feedback, and coaching during sessions.
  • Ensure supervision hours meet Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) standards.

Parent/Caregiver Training

  • Conduct parent training sessions to improve carryover of skills.
  • Educate caregivers on behavior strategies, communication techniques, and reinforcement systems.
  • Collaborate with families to support treatment goals at home and in the community.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Complete session notes, treatment plans, reassessments, and documentation on time.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Attend team meetings, trainings, and case consultations.
  • Coordinate care with schools, physicians, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other providers.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active BCBA Certification in good standing.
  • Master’s degree in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field.
  • State licensure (if required in Washington or applicable state).
  • Experience working with individuals with autism/developmental disabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for home/community cases).

Preferred

  • Experience with Medicaid-funded ABA services.
  • Experience supervising multiple staff and managing caseloads.
  • Bilingual abilities.
