Job description

Mariposa Women and Family Center is expanding our mission and community-based impact. We are seeking to add a part-time, hybrid, Data Analyst to support our programs and assist with identifying collaborative solutions. This position will required some in-office presence and support.

Established in 1977, Mariposa Women and Family Center provides high-quality, affordable mental health and substance abuse counseling, life skills, and supportive services to women and families in need. Our mission is to empower and support vulnerable populations through compassionate care and community engagement.

Position Summary: The Data Analyst serves a key role within the administration of programs including, but not limited to, administering accurate data collection, providing and analyzing data and reports, monitoring outcomes, support of operations with data to ensure programmatic deliverables are met and, ensuring improvements based on data and analytics. The Data Analyst, will ensure the program (CalWORKs Behavioral Health Program) maintains reliable data in the OQ system, and oversees the reporting of data to clients (internal and external).

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures programs maintain a focus on 100% accuracy of outcomes by reviewing, analyzing, and monitoring data for completeness and readiness for reporting.
  • Provide data-informed feedback to program staff and leadership, working proactively and collaboratively to develop strategies for improving outcomes, and communicate any data gaps or delays that may impact reporting timelines.
  • Attend all data and outcomes-related meetings and ensure the program remains proactive in meeting all data collection requirements, including adapting to changes at the local, county, and state levels, and supporting compliance with reporting timelines and requirements (e.g., CalOMS and other mandated reports).
  • Ensure program data accurately reflects outcomes, performance trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Promote the use of data to support continuous quality improvement and ensure a sustained focus on achieving positive client outcomes and meeting program objectives.
  • Produce timely, consistent, and relevant data reports across all required domains, and support the accurate and timely submission of all required program data and reports to client(s).
  • Advise program management and client staff on data analytics best practices, reporting standards, and data management procedures to improve overall data quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, ethical standards, and professional boundaries in all data handling and reporting activities.
  • Identify program trends and outcomes through data analysis using OQ Analyst, data manipulation tools, statistical methods, and programming techniques.
  • Proactively engage with program staff to ensure data needs are established and reporting functionality to meet those needs.
  • Attend weekly meetings and ad hoc meeting as required (both remotely and in-person)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Prior related experience with County or County contracted electronic health records preferred.
  • Background in statistical methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly learn data collection system and all available reports through this system.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft (Excel and Access) software.
  • Ability to conduct critical thinking and analyses of program data, develop reports on data assessments, trends in the data, and areas of needed improvement for program management and staff.
  • Ability to create charts and graphs for use in staff meetings focusing on brainstorming ideas for outcome improvement as well as for dissemination to the County BHS (Behavioral Health Services) and the community stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Must have planning and organizing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective organizational, oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must show strong initiative, excise sound judgment, and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree preferred in information systems, data science, or related field preferred or A.A. degree with 3+ years of related experience.

Special Requirements:

  • Background (livescan) clearance required
