Marketing Data Analyst
Part-Time | 15 20 hours per week - Salary: $20-$25 per hour
Reports to: Director of Marketing and Strategic Communications
Position Summary
The Marketing & Data Analyst drives data-informed decision-making across enrollment, marketing, and advancement by analyzing audience behavior, identifying trends, and providing clear strategic recommendations.
This role goes beyond reporting to actively interpret data, define target audiences, and uncover opportunities to improve recruitment, engagement, and communication effectiveness. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-directed thinker who seeks out data, identifies patterns, and translates insights into actionable strategies that guide institutional priorities.
Primary Responsibilities
Audience Insights & Behavioral Analysis
  • Identify and define key audiences (prospective families, parents, students, alumni, donors) and recommend who Carmel should be targeting across initiatives
  • Analyze audience behavior across the enrollment funnel, digital platforms, and engagement channels
  • Interpret how audiences interact with marketing, communications, and recruitment efforts to uncover opportunities for growth
  • Provide clear recommendations on how to better reach, engage, and convert target audiences

Enrollment & Marketing Strategy Insights
  • Analyze enrollment pipeline performance and recommend strategies to improve conversion at each stage
  • Evaluate marketing campaign performance and provide actionable recommendations to improve effectiveness and ROI
  • Identify trends in inquiry, application, and enrollment behavior to inform recruitment strategy
  • Partner with Admissions and Marketing to guide campaign direction based on data insights

Proactive Research & Opportunity Identification
  • Independently seek out and analyze relevant data sources (internal and external) to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
  • Conduct market and competitive research to better understand positioning and audience behavior
  • Surface insights and recommendations without needing direct prompting, acting as a strategic thought partner to leadership

Surveys & Institutional Research
  • Design and manage surveys for prospective families, parents, students, and alumni
  • Conduct and analyze senior exit interviews and institutional surveys
  • Translate survey results into actionable insights and strategic recommendations

Advancement & Engagement Analytics
  • Analyze donor behavior, alumni engagement, and campaign performance
  • Provide recommendations to improve donor participation and long-term engagement
  • Identify patterns that inform advancement strategy and communication priorities

Reporting & Data Visualization
  • Develop dashboards and reports that clearly communicate trends, performance, and opportunities
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across reporting systems
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in data analytics, statistics, business, marketing, or related field
  • Experience working with data analysis, reporting tools, and visualization platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret behavioral data
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into strategic recommendations and insights
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving improvements
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present insights to non-technical stakeholders
