Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing the highest level of service to our furry clients. This role involves working closely with various animals, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining a clean and organized environment. Attention to detail is a must. Hours are 11am to 7pm M-F.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
  • Maintain utmost cleanliness in kennels, treatment areas, and throughout the hospital to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management.
  • Handle animals with care and restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and behaviors.
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments or managing records as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred; kennel experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with veterinary practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving animals or equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners.
