Job description

Hutchinson Public Schools is seeking a Long-term Substitute Social Worker beginning September 28, 2026 - February 7, 2027. 

This position will service students at West Elementary and Tiger Elementary. Candidates should be appropriately licensed/certified through Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) or contact the district for licensing options. Ideal candidates will hold LSW credentials. The salary range for this position is $33.50 per hour - $62.40 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include sick leave and a retirement plan with employer contribution. 
Responsibilities to include:

  • provide individual and small-group support to students with social, emotional, and behavioral issues
  • provide Tier 2 & 3 support to students identified through the school wide PBIS system of support
  • provide service in social skills to students identified in special education
  • support students and classrooms in positive behavior strategies
  • collaborate with parents regarding behavior and attendance

West Elementary is located on the west side of Hutchinson and serves students pre-K through 1st grade. West is a unique building where we educate the Districts' first learners Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Graders. Tiger Elementary School serves students in second and third grade. Our exceptional staff provides students with consistent, research-based instruction tailored to their unique needs. Grade-level teams collaborate with specialists in Music, Physical Education, STREAM, and Art, as well as Enrichment, Special Education, and Title 1, to create a well-rounded program for all levels of learners.
