Position Summary:ย 

St Mary Catholic Virtue School in Littleton is seeking a reliable, energetic, and caring individual to join our Before and After Care Program team. This role involves supervising and engaging children in a safe, structured, and fun environment before and after the school day. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, demonstrates strong communication skills, and fosters a positive and inclusive atmosphere.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, homework support, and outdoor play
  • Maintain a structured daily schedule while allowing flexibility for children's interests and needs
  • Assist students with homework and encourage positive study habits
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff
  • Enforce program rules and behavioral expectations in a respectful and consistent manner
  • Prepare and clean up activity areas, ensuring a neat and organized environment
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, injuries, or conflicts

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • PDIS Level 3 Certification or ability to obtain
  • Experience working with children (school-age preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in education or child development is a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage groups of children in a positive and supportive way
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background check & AoD Safe Environment Training required

Work Schedule (22-29 hours per week):

  • Morning shift: Typically 6:45 AM - 8:00 AM
  • Afternoon shift: Typically 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Monday through Friday, following the school calendar plus 1 week before school begins and 1 week after school ends

Work Environment:

  • School-based or community center setting
  • Indoor and outdoor supervision required
