After School Childcare Lead
Job Description
The After School Childcare Lead is responsible for maintaining the daily operation of the program site to which assigned.
Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age which a High School diploma or equivalent. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications needed (will train). Experience in before school/afterschool childcare programming preferred. Skills needed include supervision, lesson planning, record keeping and communication.
Immediate Supervisor:
The After School Childcare Lead is responsible to the Team Leader and Recreation Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
  1. Assist in the scheduling, organizing, and implementation of the daily activities at the assigned before school/afterschool site.
  2. Organize and help lead staff meeting.
  3. Build and maintain staff morale
  4. Assist in handling discipline problems as they arise.
  5. Maintain communication with staff, children, parents and school administrators.
  6. Responsible for inventory of equipment.
  7. Monitor/inspect site to ensure participant's safety.

Psychological Considerations:
The After School Childcare Lead may need to resolve differences and problems that arise with staff, parents, children and/or school teaching staff. This position is responsible for an organized and safe program. This position may have to work under stressful situations when CPR or First Aid is necessary.
Physiological Considerations:
Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds.
Environmental Considerations:
Activities are performed both indoors and outdoors. Conditions can include but are not limited to weather conditions and building maintenance and/or construction.
Cognitive Considerations:
Must possess good safety awareness and judgment. Must be friendly and like to work with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
