Job Summary / Basic Functions

The Department of Radiology of the LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans seeks an affable physician for an academic faculty position in the Emergency Radiology division at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor (non‑tenure, clinical track). Fellowship training will be considered a plus but is not required.

Our department is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education and scholarly activity. International candidates with exceptional training and background or seeking J‑1 waiver are encouraged to apply.

We provide multi‑modality radiology services for University Medical Center – New Orleans. This is a state‑of‑the‑art facility supporting 300+ beds and the only Level 1 Trauma Center in South Louisiana, the Norman E. McSwain, Jr, MD, Spirit of Charity Trauma Center.

We are a collegial group looking for someone interested in working predominantly an ER shift from 8p‑8a. This is a wonderful opportunity for a radiologist to practice cutting edge radiology in a stimulating and challenging environment, with manageable study volume. Strong clinical skills are the priority as is a genuine interest in sharing clinical knowledge with residents. We are offering a very competitive salary with additional pay for evening hours.

Qualified candidates must be ABR certified or on the pathway to full board certification and licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before hire date.
