 Position Summary

The General Store Lead at High West Distillery supports the General Store Manager in delivering a world-class retail experience across High West Distillery’s two retail locations. This role partners with the General Store Supervisor and store team to develop and implement processes that strengthen retail operations and the guest experience. The General Store Lead also collaborates with Hospitality, Marketing, and Market Representative teams to support departmental goals. This position reports to the General Store Supervisor and helps execute the store’s goals, vision, and overall direction.

Responsibilities

  • Meet weekly with the General Store Supervisor to review upcoming programming and seasonal merchandise releases for the distillery and General Store
  • Assist with onboarding and training new General Store hires
  • Complete monthly inventory with manager direction
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the General Store, including organized understock and supplies
  • Maintain order in the retail area of the Munchkin warehouse
  • Keep the General Store stocked and transfer merchandise from Munchkin to all retail locations
  • Serve as an additional guest contact for retail inquiries
  • Take a lead role on special release days
  • Work at least one General Store shift per week

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of customer service, retail, or hospitality experience
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of the High West story and products
  • Experience working with vendors throughout the ordering process
  • Retail leadership experience, including daily operations oversight and staff development support
  • Experience with inventory management, purchasing, replenishment, and stock transfers across multiple locations
  • Knowledge of visual merchandising principles and high retail presentation standards
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with beverage, tourism, hospitality, or destination retail operations preferred

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
    - Works indoors and outdoors
    - Works in warm and cold climates
    - Works in elevated areas
    - Works on wet surfaces
    - May be exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or chemicals
    - Works near moving mechanical parts and lift truck traffic
    - Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
    - Primary work environment may include the tasting room or barrel room for hospitality roles

The salary range for this role is:

$15.96 - $23.45

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  Our compensation is based on cost of labor.
