Job description

Join one of DC's most iconic hospitality teams.

Since opening in 2013, Dacha Beer Garden has become one of Washington, DC's most recognized beer gardens, known for exceptional hospitality, an energetic atmosphere, award-winning food and beverage programs, and one of the city's best outdoor dining experiences.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Beer Garden Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading people, and takes pride in creating unforgettable guest experiences. This is not a desk job—you'll be on the floor coaching, motivating, solving problems, and setting the tone for every shift.

If you love hospitality, believe that every guest interaction matters, and enjoy developing great teams, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
As Beer Garden Manager, you'll partner closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure every shift runs smoothly. Your responsibilities include:
  • Lead daily front-of-house operations during service while maintaining high standards of hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency.

  • Deliver an exceptional guest experience by actively engaging with guests, resolving concerns, and creating memorable visits.

  • Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop servers, bartenders, hosts, support staff, and shift leads.

  • Train, mentor, and evaluate employees to ensure strong product knowledge, consistent service standards, and operational excellence.

  • Conduct regular employee testing and ongoing coaching to maintain core competencies.

  • Execute opening and closing procedures and maintain accountability throughout each shift.

  • Maintain a positive, energetic, and professional work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.

  • Assist the General Manager with staffing, scheduling, labor management, and operational planning.

  • Coordinate and execute private events while ensuring seamless service.

  • Monitor cleanliness, safety, organization, and compliance with company standards and health regulations.

  • Handle guest feedback professionally and resolve issues quickly and effectively.

  • Support inventory management, ordering, cash handling, and daily administrative responsibilities.

  • Step in wherever needed to support the team during busy service periods.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a natural leader who enjoys coaching others, stays calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoys making people happy.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong business writing skills.

  • Outstanding guest service mindset.

  • Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a high-volume environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Four or more years of progressive restaurant management experience.

  • Experience managing high-volume restaurants, beer gardens, bars, or hospitality venues.

  • Beer, wine, or spirits certifications (Cicerone, WSET, BarSmarts, etc.) are a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Licensing Requirements

Candidates must obtain and maintain:

  • Active DC ABCA Manager License

  • DC Department of Health Certified Food Protection Manager Certification

What Makes This Opportunity Different

At Dacha, managers aren't simply supervisors—they're leaders who shape our culture. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead one of Washington's busiest and most respected hospitality venues.

  • Work alongside experienced operators who are passionate about developing future hospitality leaders.

  • Build and mentor high-performing teams.

  • Help create memorable experiences for thousands of guests throughout the year.

  • Be part of a company that values professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

If you're passionate about hospitality, love leading people, and enjoy the excitement of a high-volume restaurant, we'd love to hear from you.
