We are seeking a Bar Manager who is passionate about hospitality, quality ingredients, team culture, and creating an atmosphere that keeps people coming back. This leader will help shape a bar experience with the warmth, familiarity, and energy of a neighborhood hangout; a place where guests feel like they belong.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in high-energy environments, values consistency and craftsmanship, and understands how to balance elevated beverage standards with approachable, genuine service.
What You'll Do
Hospitality & Guest Experience

  • Create a welcoming, energetic, and friendly bar atmosphere where guests feel like regulars.
  • Lead the bar team with a strong focus on hospitality, consistency, and authentic guest engagement.
  • Actively engage with guests during service.

Beverage Program & Ingredient Quality
  • Oversee daily bar operations including service standards, beverage quality, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Partner with local breweries, farms, distilleries, and distributors to support local sourcing and community relationships.
  • Maintain a beverage program centered around fresh ingredients, thoughtful cocktails, quality spirits, and local offerings.
  • Assist with seasonal cocktail development and beverage features that complement The Local's culinary approach.
  • Ensure consistent execution of recipes, pours, presentation, and bar standards.

Team Leadership & Culture
  • Lead, coach, and develop bar staff in a collaborative, team-first environment.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling.
  • Foster a culture built on accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and hospitality.
  • Lead by example during service with urgency, positivity, and strong communication.

Operations & Service Execution
  • Manage bar inventory, ordering, product rotation, and cost controls.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization behind the bar.
  • Support private events, gamedays, and high-volume service periods as needed.

Community & Brand Experience
  • Help create a bar atmosphere that feels approachable and social.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance guest engagement and team culture.
  • Help establish The Local as a go-to neighborhood destination for both everyday guests and event-driven crowds.

What We're Looking For
Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience in a bar, restaurant, or high-volume service environment
  • Passion for hospitality, craft beverages, and creating memorable guest experiences
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and beverage operations
  • Appreciation for ingredient quality, local sourcing, and thoughtful beverage programs
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory management, ordering, and cost controls preferred
  • Must pass a criminal background check and have a valid NC driver's license and acceptable driving record

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout shifts
  • Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and carrying up to 40 pounds
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
