Beef Modernization Sorter
 
Preferences:
Harvest floor knife experience – straight knife
Ability to sharpen a knife and maintain a sharp knife – straight knife
Willingness to learn anatomy, physiology and pathological disease processes
Excellent communication skills – English speaking and writing
Must be detail oriented and disciplined
Interested in work that challenges you mentally
Ability to lift, push, and pull product repetitively
Work effectively in a TEAM atmosphere
 
Job description:
A Beef Modernization Sorter must have strong observational abilities while performing precision knife cuts so they may make correct decisions related to pathology, presentation or possible sanitary dressing deficiencies. Beef Modernization Sorters work in a high-paced environment and must understand Food Safety and Quality are their primary responsibility. Beef Modernization Sorters undergo intensive and recurring training and must be willing to train/educate others.
Beef Modernization Sorters work closely with many different harvest floor departments including USDA-FSIS Consumer Safety Inspectors.
