Job Summary:
In this role, you would be an Associate reporting to the BEn Senior Director of Private Capital Partnerships and Strategic Advisory. Your team will engage in a range of assignments supporting Global Business Units (GBUs) work in the context of PCPs. The team will support an initiative to closely connect Bechtel to sources of private capital (e.g., private equity and sovereign wealth funds). The buckets of activities will mostly include two macro areas:
  1. With the Senior Director and Managing Director, operationalize PCPs to create high-grade opportunities for the GBUs (incl. assessing potential partners, crafting engagement plans, orchestrating meetings, organizing workshops, identifying and evaluating new development prospects and financing opportunities, others)
  2. Provide ad-hoc analytical support to GBUs' strategy and detailed market assessment opportunities in the PCP space (incl. supporting new market assessments, project development, Bechtel equity investments, project financing, M&A and other commercial activities)

Major Responsibilities:
  • Leads analysis and supports development of PCP strategy and execution plan
  • Supports a broad range of strategy projects
  • Performs financial and economic analysis of potential projects, new markets, new technologies, potential partners, competitors, and M&A targets to evaluate profitability and risks
  • Undertakes research and gathers quantitative and qualitative information from a variety of sources; analyzes macro and industry trends and dynamics
  • Collaborates and builds relationships with team and other stakeholders; develop relationships with counterparts in relevant business unit(s) to understand their business and where BEn can add value, be seen as a trusted partner, and share knowledge.
  • Prepares presentations and reports to communicate analysis and recommendations; consistently improves the quality of deliverables
  • Reports and supports the PCP team's Directors to source, shape, and execute strategic partnerships.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 3-5 years of relevant experience or 7-10 years of relevant work experience - ideally management consulting, energy, infrastructure, or related industries
  • MBA-equivalent degree is a plus

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated interest in international energy business and infrastructure financing and development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other quantitative analysis tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization, networking and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal, top-down communication skills
  • Ability to perform quantitative analysis independently
  • Self-starter with eagerness to help Bechtel identify and seize new business opportunities
