Job description

Job Title: Tooling Technician

Pay: $28-$29

Job Description

The Tooling Technician will be responsible for cleaning, polishing, and inventorying extrusion tooling, as well as assisting with screws, barrels, and performing minor repairs. This role requires a general understanding of production machinery and equipment such as extruders, vacuum tanks, dryers, pullers, and saws. The Tooling Technician will support production and maintenance to ensure production schedules are consistently met and will aid in the technical training of production operators as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, polish, and inventory extrusion tooling.
  • Assist with screws and barrels and perform minor repairs to tooling.
  • Understand and operate production machinery and equipment.
  • Support production and maintenance to meet production schedules.
  • Aid in technical training of production operators.
  • Report on project and initiative status to the leader.
  • Work closely with lead operators, supervisors, and the tool and die technician.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with mold repair, bead blaster, grinder, micrometer, and calipers.
  • Ability to understand and use basic shop tools such as grinders, bead blasters, micrometers, and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer skills, including Excel and Outlook.
