Beach Operations Manager information

What does a beach operations manager do?

A Beach Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities and staff on a public or private beach. Their duties typically include managing lifeguards, coordinating beach maintenance, ensuring guest safety, and implementing environmental or safety regulations. They also handle scheduling, customer service, and may be involved in event planning or vendor management. The goal is to ensure that beachgoers have a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience.

What are some common challenges faced by a beach operations manager, and how can they be addressed?

A Beach Operations Manager often faces challenges such as managing large crowds, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and coordinating with seasonal staff. These challenges can be addressed by implementing clear communication channels, scheduling regular training on safety and emergency procedures, and fostering strong relationships with local authorities and vendors. Additionally, adapting quickly to changing weather conditions and public needs is essential for maintaining smooth beach operations and a positive visitor experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a beach operations manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Beach Operations Manager, you need expertise in facility management, staff supervision, and safety protocols, typically supported by experience in hospitality or recreation management. Familiarity with scheduling software, safety and maintenance systems, and certifications such as CPR or lifeguard training are often required. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills help you coordinate teams and ensure a positive guest experience. These skills are important to maintain operational efficiency, prioritize safety, and deliver high-quality service in dynamic beachfront environments.

Job description

Regional Outside Sales Team Manager
Department: Sales
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Job Availability in 1 of the 3 Major Markets
Compensation: $130,000 - $220,000 / year
Description
Mytech Partners is adding a Regional Outside Sales Team Manager to lead our outside sales team across this region. This is a newly created regional leadership role reporting directly to our VP of Sales, built for someone who wants to build and coach a team, not just carry a personal quota.
This position may be based in New Brighton, MN; Denver, CO; or San Antonio, TX and serves as a key leadership role with responsibility for supporting and overseeing operations across all four markets. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, drive consistency in processes and programs, and partner closely with local leadership teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Due to the multi-market scope of this role, regular travel to all four markets is required to maintain strong business relationships, support operational needs, and ensure effective execution of initiatives across locations.
Mytech Partners is a managed IT services provider founded in 2000, serving organizations across regulated industries including healthcare, legal, manufacturing, and professional services. We design, implement, and manage the technology that keeps our clients' businesses running, across four markets: Denver, CO; Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN; San Antonio, TX; and Long Beach, CA.
"We take on the technical complexity and alphabet soup of IT, turning it into secure, predictable technology that actually supports your goals."
We invest in the people who work here as much as we invest in the clients we serve: real training and continuing education support, genuine paths for internal advancement, and a culture built around celebrating wins together. We've been named a Top Workplace and recognized as a Best Workplace by the Star Tribune, the Denver Business Journal, and other publications going back to 2013.
Key Responsibilities
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach a team of Outside Sales reps across your region, running a weekly rhythm of 1:1s, forecasting reviews, and side-by-side coaching in the field.
• Own your region's net-new managed services revenue number, coaching your team through the full sales cycle from first conversation to signed agreement.
• Build a healthy, balanced book of business across every branch in your region, not just your strongest market.
• Represent Mytech in the community - trade groups, networking events, referral partners - to keep new opportunities flowing into your team's pipeline.
• Hand off closed business cleanly to our Client Success and Sales Support teams so new clients get a great start.
• Partner closely with the General Manager in each of your markets on local execution and hiring.
• Travel regularly to all locations in your region for in-person engagement, support and collaboration.
Travel Requirement: Regular travel to all four markets is required. This role maintains an active presence across locations and requires flexibility to travel routinely in support of employees, leadership, and operational needs.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
• 5+ years of B2B outside/field sales experience, ideally in IT services, managed services, or another technical/consultative selling environment.
• Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring other salespeople - as a player-coach, team lead, or people manager.
• A track record of new-logo, net-new revenue generation, not just account maintenance.
• Comfortable traveling regularly across a multi-branch region.
• Strong organizational and CRM discipline - you'll expect it from your team, so you need to model it yourself.
Benefits
Mytech offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
  • 12 days of accrued vacation in your first year
  • 6 days Sick time
  • 8 hours of volunteer time
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (employee portion fully paid)
  • Company paid Life, STD, and LTD
  • Professional Development Plan
  • 401k with company match
  • Profit Sharing
