Job Description Overview We are seeking a Labor (Make Parts) SAP Consultant to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program for a leading Aerospace & Defense (A&D) organization. This initiative is consolidating operations into a unified SAP S/4HANA RISE environment, with a strong focus on Manufacturing, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul), and Aftermarket services. This role is responsible for designing and enabling make-part earned value (EV) capabilities across the Material & Labor Earned Value (MEV) solution, with a focus on labor tracking, shop floor execution, and performance measurement.
The analyst will bridge SAP production execution, labor costing, and EVMS (Cobra) to ensure accurate program performance reporting in a highly regulated NS2 Gov Cloud environment. Key Responsibilities Design and support make-part earned value (EV) processes for in-house manufacturing and MRO operations Enable labor tracking and performance measurement across production and repair activities Develop time-phased labor Estimates to Complete (ETC) aligned to contract Period of Performance (PoP) Define and support integration between SAP S/4HANA and Cobra (EVMS) for labor cost and performance data Build labor tracking and performance reports, including: Hours, quantities, and standard vs actuals BCWP, BCWS, ACWP CPI, SPI Support production order lifecycle: Creation release confirmation completion settlement Capture and analyze: Actual labor hours (shop floor confirmations) Standard hours (HPU - Hours Per Unit) Variances between planned vs actual performance Support repair, rework, and overhaul processes: Split orders Rework loops Scrap and excess material handling Build and maintain make-part cost baselines, including: Raw materials NPA (Non-Productive Activity) SRR (Supplier Resource Requirements) Vendor processing / subcontract operations Develop simulation and "what-if" capabilities: Model labor and cost scenarios without impacting production baselines Design WBS-, routing-, and order-level data models to support: Roll-up / roll-down reporting Drill-down into labor and cost drivers Ensure compliance with ITAR, FAR, and DFARS requirements Support UAT, reconciliation, and validation of labor and EV data Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience as an SAP Business Analyst or Functional Consultant Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, including: PP (Production Planning) PM (Plant Maintenance) - especially for MRO scenarios CO (Controlling - product costing, order costing) MM (Materials Management) FI (Financial Accounting) Experience with PMMO (Project Manufacturing Management & Optimization) and/or GPD (Group Procurement Data) Deep understanding of: Production order lifecycle and costing Shop floor execution and confirmations Labor tracking and standard vs actual performance Proven experience supporting Earned Value Management (EVMS) in A&D or government contracting environments Experience integrating SAP with EV tools such as Cobra Strong understanding of: Labor cost collection and allocation ETC / EAC forecasting WBS-based financial structures U.S. Citizenship required Preferred Qualifications Experience with MRO / Aftermarket operations in Aerospace & Defense Familiarity with ITAR, FAR, and DFARS compliance requirements Experience working in SAP NS2 Secure Government Cloud (Gov Cloud) Experience with SAP S/4HANA RISE transformations Knowledge of advanced manufacturing scenarios: Make-to-Engineer (MTE) Engineer-to-Order (ETO) Experience with SAP Analytics tools (SAC, BW/4HANA) or external BI platforms Domain Expertise Requirements Manufacturing & Routing Deep understanding of: Shop floor routing and operations Work centers and capacity planning Production orders and confirmations Experience with standard hours (HPU) and performance benchmarking Labor & Performance Tracking Design and support labor reporting including: Actual vs planned hours Earned value metrics (BCWP, BCWS, ACWP) Performance indices (CPI, SPI) Understand how labor drives earned value in manufacturing and repair contexts Repair, Rework & Scrap Analysis (MRO Focus) Capture and model: Repair cycles and inspection-driven work Rework loops and split production orders Scrap, excess, and unplanned labor impacts Understand how these affect: Cost performance Schedule performance EAC projections Make Part Cost Baselines Build baseline cost models for in-house manufacturing including: Raw materials Labor standards Overhead External processing Align baselines with EV methodologies and contract structures Simulation & What-If Modeling Develop scenario modeling capabilities: Labor rate changes Productivity impacts Schedule delays Enable decision-making without impacting production or EV baselines Earned Value & Program Controls Strong understanding of EVMS concepts: BCWP (Earned Value) BCWS (Planned Value) ACWP (Actual Cost) CPI / SPI Ability to translate shop floor activity into EV metrics Experience aligning manufacturing execution with program financial performance Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to bridge manufacturing, finance, and IT stakeholders Excellent communication skills across shop floor, program controls, and leadership Experience working in large, complex transformation programs Why This Role
