Job description

Lead Rental Inspector (Light and Heavy Equipment)                                  

South Florida Caterpillar dealership seeking a Lead Rental Inspector.  Individual chosen will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and light repair of various heavy equipment product lines, including Caterpillar BCP equipment.  Duties include, but are not limited to, damage inspections (TA1), performing basic maintenance tasks, testing the safety and operational capabilities of all rental equipment, software updates, track inspections, assisting with equipment walkarounds, and completing small repairs on BCP line equipment.  This position requires the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and complete minor repairs as needed to ensure equipment readiness and operational performance.  At times, this individual may serve as part of a fast-response service team and be required to travel to customer or job sites to troubleshoot equipment or complete minor field repairs in a timely and professional manner.  

In addition, this individual will serve as the lead inspector for the department and will be expected to assist with training and development of personnel at the north end locations, helping ensure inspection consistency, safety standards, and operational excellence across the team.

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record and be able to lift 40 lbs. Continued education will be required for proficiency and the ability to introduce/demonstrate features and technology on the Caterpillar BCP and GCI product lines. The ideal candidate will be personable, provide excellent customer service, maintain a safety-conscious attitude toward all assigned tasks, and have the ability to perform tasks independently without direct supervision. High school diploma or equivalent required.
