The Liquor Grinding Operator, under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, is responsible for all functions and record keeping (including SAP and MES), performing all the operational activities of production, following the safety standards, quality and meeting its standards, quality tests and controls and recording activities, involved from the nib hoppers to storage liquor tanks. Coordinate grinding activities with nib roasting, and pressing operators while adhering to all GMP and HACCP operating procedures.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Work directly with the Nib Roasting Operator to schedule the lines and make sure all raw material are available prior to processing
  • Set up grinding equipment and monitor roasting process as specified by recipe
  • Set up grinding equipment and monitor the process of grinding Nibs per recipe specifications
  • Monitoring the silo and tank inventory for Nibs on a daily basis
  • Product sampling and hands-on testing for pH and moisture with subsequent equipment adjustments per testing results
  • Product sampling for Micro lab
  • Monitor the CCP and register it appropriately in the system and forms, following the HACCP procedure and taking the proper actions and communication in case of an undesired result
  • Monitor the process parameters and inform the supervisor of any deviation in the process
  • Register all the results at the defined form and/or system
  • Perform cleanup of the area and equipment, 1st level equipment maintenance, regular equipment checks, and properly completing the monitoring form with information
  • Capable to work as a backup of the Nib Roasting Operator
  • Must promote a safe working environment and promote good GMPs
  • Committed to a safe food product
  • Works within all regulatory requirements
  • Perform all other related duties as requested

About you:

  • AA degree in science related field or related post high school technical/ mechanical education or a minimum of high school diploma with 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Computer literacy, knowledge/experience with PLC, MES and SAP a plus
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to work on hot environment and climb stairs
