We continue to consolidate and enhance our BBC website and apps for global audiences, including in North America, and you will be a key part of the team curating this experience - managing the homepage and other key indexes during the US afternoon and evening window.
The right candidate will demonstrate strong editorial judgment, a sharp eye for engaging headlines and visuals, and a keen sense of US and global audience needs in the digital space. During your shifts, you will work hands-on in the CMS to ensure we always have a rich, timely content mix across the site and app. You will also contribute to daily editorial planning and curation strategy for major news events and special initiatives.
You will have experience with digital publishing best practices and optimization tactics, and a desire to deepen your understanding of analytics and develop your ability to draw actionable, real-time insights to improve engagement.
Success in this role requires close collaboration with colleagues across time zones - from Singapore and London through to the US East and West coasts. Strong communication, handover discipline, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to work autonomously during your shift while staying aligned with the team's editorial priorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Curate and optimize content for bbc.com and the app, maintaining editorial integrity and responsiveness to breaking news
  • Craft compelling headlines and select impactful visuals, prioritizing mobile-friendly presentation
  • Plan and execute real-time updates, push alerts, and long-term curation strategies
  • Leverage audience data and industry trends to enhance engagement and user experience
  • Collaborate with teams across BBC News, Sport, Features, BritBox, Audience Development, and Product to align priorities

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $90,000 to $100,000.
