Position Overview

Baystate Therapeutics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team in Appomattox, Virginia. This full-time opportunity requires a commitment to providing exceptional care in an onsite rehabilitation facility, where the focus is on patient-centered therapy and rehabilitation outcomes. The physical therapist position is situated in a supportive rehabilitation facility environment in Appomattox, Virginia. Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and administer tailored physical therapy treatments focused on preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and enhancing functional capabilities in alignment with patient-centered care plans.
  • Evaluate patients' physical abilities through comprehensive assessments of muscle, joint, and neurological function.
  • Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of care plans and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
  • Conduct in-home evaluations to assess rehabilitation needs and suggest modifications that promote patient independence.
  • Implement manual and therapeutic exercises, guiding clients through both non-manual exercises and functional activities to foster recovery.
  • Utilize advanced therapeutic techniques, including traction and massage, as well as the application of physical agents to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Regularly assess and fit patients with prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians on recommendations for modifications as necessary.
  • Document all clinical interactions and progress in the patient's medical records, including OASIS assessments and discharge summaries.
  • Engage actively in case conferences, providing insights and consultation to interdisciplinary teams on total treatment strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with all documentation and scheduling protocols, ensuring timely submission of clinical and payroll records in accordance with company policies.
  • Educate patients and their families on the effective use and care of therapy devices and overall rehabilitation programs.
  • Participate in ongoing training and performance reviews to improve treatment techniques and enhance professional development.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The physical therapist will work primarily with clients requiring rehabilitation services, including individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic pain conditions. Our patient demographic is diverse, offering the opportunity for growth and learning as you tailor treatment strategies to meet various needs and capabilities.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.
  • An active and clean state license as a Physical Therapist, with no documented history of sanctions.
  • Strong proficiency with various manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription.
  • Ability to efficiently use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, particularly Web PT, to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Current knowledge of evidence-based physical therapy practices and techniques.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in outpatient rehabilitation settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to mentor Physical Therapy Assistants is preferred.
  • Experience working with medically complex clients is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers an attractive salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
