Registered Nurses in the Post Surgical Unit are an integral part of the surgical team, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients following surgical procedures. The nurse ensures each patient manages post-operative pain, promotes early and safe ambulation, progressing safely toward their baseline level of function and readiness for discharge, supporting an optimal recovery process and continuity of care.
Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced post-surgical environment. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons and post-acute caregivers to provide a seamless continuity of care from pre- to post-op. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Post Surgical Unit!
Schedule: Days 3x shifts per week, variable
Registered Nurse Post Surgical Unit at Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington:
- The PSU Nurse has the responsibility to provide all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care.
- He/She ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.
- The RN cares for all ages from 2 years to geriatric.

Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing

Current Texas RN License

Current BCLS, ACLS

PALS recommended.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Good organization habits

Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment

Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.

Minimum 2 years clinical experience in an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit

Strong ER experience preferred.

1-year orthopedic nursing experience, preferred.
