Ensure the physical readiness of Army Soldiers

If you're a skilled physical therapy professional seeking a career that blends your expertise with a commitment to serving the U.S. Army, becoming an Army Physical Therapist could be the perfect fit for you.

Outstanding Opportunities

As a U.S. Army Physical Therapist, you'll play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of Soldiers and their families through intervention, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. You'll have access to cutting-edge equipment, ongoing education through courses, seminars, and training, as well as opportunities to conduct research that advances the field.

The Army also offers an opportunity for advanced education through the Army-Baylor University Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy (DPT). This is an entry-level, nationally ranked program held at the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Texas. This two-phase program provides 18-months of graduate didactic coursework plus a 12-month supervised clinicals internship. Upon graduation, you will be awarded a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Baylor University and will be eligible to sit for the state licensure. You will incur a 60-month Active Duty Service Obligation (ADSO). To learn more about the DPT, visit https://military.robbins.baylor.edu/physical-therapy/physical-therapy-dpt.

If you choose to serve in the Army Reserve, you can support your country when needed while remaining active in your local community. No matter how you serve, a career as an Army Physical Therapist allows you to make a meaningful impact in critical ways.

Outstanding Benefits

When you join the Army Medical Specialist Corps, you’ll be making a difference in the lives of our Soldiers and the country at large while gaining access to invaluable opportunities, leadership training, and a competitive benefit package.

Benefits may include:

★ Enrollment in the Uniformed Services Blended Retirement System

★ No- to low-cost medical and dental care for you and your family
