Baylor College of Medicine and Department Summary:

The Section of General Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, scholarly activities, and community engagement. As general internists, we apply scientific knowledge, clinical expertise and compassion to prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients with a broad spectrum of medical conditions. We care for diverse patients in primary care outpatient settings as well as hospitalized patients. Our collaborative interdisciplinary teams practice at Baylor Medicine Clinic, Baylor St. Luke's CHI Hospitals (Medical Center, Sugarland, Vintage, Woodlands), Harris Health System (Ben Taub Hospital and Smith Clinic) and Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking full-time Nocturnists to provide Hospital Medicine services at CHI St. Luke's The Vintage Hospital. The ideal candidates are patient-centered, and committed to excellence in providing quality care in an inpatient setting.  Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Internal or Family Medicine.

Job Duties

•            Positions are clinical with direct inpatient care on a 7 on/ 14 off block schedule. 

•            Provide medical care to adults in the inpatient care setting.

•            Participate in any team meetings. Work with the team to develop the appropriate order sets and procedures that are needed.

•            Contribute to quality improvement and research projects. Collaborate nationally with known leaders in the field. Keep up with continuing medical education as per college and section requirements.

•            Renewing and meeting all required licenses and certification requirements.

•            Complete all documentation in a timely manner so that billing and other administrative tasks can happen smoothly to ensure a robust operational system.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education Requirement: MD, DO; Board Certified or board eligible.

• Licensure Requirement: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
