Position Summary: Provide quality customer service maintaining and servicing customer critical power equipment, such as Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS’), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Bypass Cabinets and Battery systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently schedule and conduct preventative maintenance services.
  • Respond to emergency calls 24/7 when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot critical power systems to identify root causes and carry out repairs efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to job requirements and strive for accuracy in all tasks.
  • Focus on preventative maintenance as a Critical Power Professional™.
  • Aim to achieve Zero Defects (ZD) and eliminate costly errors.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and education on equipment operation.
  • Maintain and secure company tools and equipment.
  • Keep personal vehicle in safe condition and maintain current insurance and licenses.
  • Support sales opportunities by recommending critical power equipment and related products.
  • Submit all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members.
  • Attend product-specific training sessions and assist with equipment commissioning.
  • Handle battery installation, removal, and disposal procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering technology or a related field
  • At least 4 years of experience in servicing, troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining critical power or similar equipment
  • Willingness to learn technical skills through various training methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Self-motivated and able to independently manage workload
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of factory training or equivalent in the repair and maintenance of multiple leading UPS brands is preferred.
  • Previous experience in critical power field service.
  • Proficiency in the use of electrical/electronic test equipment and understanding of fundamentals.
  • Capability to read and interpret electrical line diagrams and schematics.
  • Understanding of OHM's law and electronic theory.
  • Skill in evaluating the operating conditions of equipment.

While performing duties of the above jobs, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell. The employee frequently is required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license with auto insurance is required.
