Who are we looking for?

Re:Build AppliedLogix is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team, supporting clients in a variety of domains including the electrification, energy, and mobility industries.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at AppliedLogix, you will carry out clean-sheet designs for various client applications. Your typical activities will include requirements collection, conceptual brainstorming, design modeling and detailing using SolidWorks, prototyping and verification. For those Mechanical Engineer's with Thermal and FEA modeling skills, you will be challenged with a broad spectrum of problems that require analytical solutions.

This is an on-site / hybrid opportunity based at the Re:Build AppliedLogix development center in Rochester, NY.

What you will bring to the team

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a design engineering role.
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for customer success.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with both our internal team and direct client collaboration.
  • Interested in a wide diversity of projects with a demonstrated ability to contribute to multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to apply technical experience and a research and development mindset to unfamiliar applications.
  • Experience designing systems / solutions with electrical / thermal / environmental / user

requirements.

  • Solid understanding of the principles and application of DFM / DFA.
  • Experienced user of CAD packages, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Preferred experience designing active and passive cooling solutions.
  • Preferred experience sizing and designing busbars.
  • Experience developing manufacturing tools and processes.
  • Preferred experience using Mechanical Engineering analytical tools for FEA and Thermal Analysis such as SolidWorks Thermal / Flow / Simulation packages and/or ANSYS.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for customer or manufacturing-site collaboration as projects require
  • Experience with the design or manufacturing of batteries, fuel cells, and/or electrolyzers is a plus.
