Job description

Responsibilities

  • Provide specification, design, and maintenance of electrical equipment for all plant operations, including field installations.
  • Develop maintenance and reliability strategies related to electrical equipment.
  • Manage electrical plant modifications - switchgear and relay upgrades, MCC installations as well as UPS and substation battery systems.
  • Provide technical support for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of facilityโ€™s electrical systems and equipment (including low, medium, and high voltage equipment).
  • Investigate electrical equipment failures.
  • Recommend actions to enhance power systems and equipment reliability.
  • Develop electrical equipment specifications and reliability improvements.
  • Provide technical support for front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects and change packages.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance and operating procedures for electrical equipment.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of industry standards (API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, ASCE).
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical area classifications, be familiar with acceptable methods of satisfying the requirements of equipment installations in hazardous areas.
  • Understand the requirements of process changes (e.g., Management of Change).

Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher Degree in Electrical Engineering .
  • 3+ years of industrial Electrical Power Systems.
  • Ability to work with different departments and personnel levels (engineering, design, maintenance, management).
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical equipment, motors, motor starters, breakers, relay protection devices, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Working experience in petrochemical production units.
