In this role, you will be responsible for defining system architecture, creating electrical schematics, selecting and integrating electronics hardware, and performing thermal and power dissipation analyses. Your work will directly influence the development of safe, high-performance battery modules and packs for automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and industrial applications.

You will support all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through validation and production, while collaborating with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and program management teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical system architecture, including high- and low-voltage distribution, interfaces, and protection systems for battery packs.
  • Create electrical schematics for battery systems, including sensors, contactors, fuses, connectors, harnesses, and control electronics.
  • Select and integrate electrical hardware, including current sensors, power electronics, microcontrollers, and supporting components.
  • Perform thermal and power dissipation analysis to support reliable operation across environmental and load conditions.
  • Support circuit design, simulation, bench testing, and validation.
  • Participate in DFMEA activities and support functional safety and compliance requirements, including ISO 26262 and UL standards where applicable.
  • Partner with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and program management teams to develop robust, manufacturable battery systems.
  • Develop validation test plans, analyze results, and troubleshoot electrical system issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation and communicate engineering recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of electrical engineering experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial, energy storage, or related industries.
  • 3+ years of experience designing lithium-ion battery packs or related electrical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in electrical system design and schematic capture.
  • Experience with component selection and integration for high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
  • Knowledge of thermal management and power dissipation analysis.
  • Familiarity with battery management systems (BMS).
  • Understanding of high-voltage safety, EMC/EMI practices, grounding, and shielding.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with battery management systems (BMS), embedded electronics, or control algorithms.
  • Functional safety experience, including ISO 26262.
  • Experience leading technical projects or cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with battery modeling and experimental validation methods.
