Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a technically proficient and detail-oriented System Engineer to support the pre-sales process for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Photovoltaic (PV), and Microgrid solutions. This role focuses on developing technical proposals, system configurations, and performance analyses to support equipment sales.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop detailed technical proposals for BESS, PV, and microgrid solutions, including system architecture, control layers, product selection, and performance modeling.
  • Design and specify MV equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • Ensure high availability through redundancy design and rigorous reliability calculations.
  • Support modeling of grid impact and system behavior under various operating conditions.
  • Analyze system performance and degradation based on customer application.
  • Evaluate grid interconnection requirements and ensure compliance with utility standards (IEEE 2800, UL 1741, etc.).
  • Create preliminary single-line diagrams (SLDs), layout drawings, and system configurations for utility-scale projects.
  • Work with R&D teams in Asia to ensure alignment between proposed solutions and product capabilities.
  • Support responses to RFPs/RFQs with accurate and compelling technical documentation. Ensure designs meet customer specifications, site constraints, and applicable standards.
  • Participate in customer meetings and presentations to explain system capabilities and value propositions.
  • Provide market feedback to product teams regarding trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in utility-scale BESS, PV and/or Microgrid projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in customer-facing technical roles.
  • Familiarity with UL9540, UL1741, IEEE 1547, NFPA 855, and other relevant standards.
  • Experience with PSCAD, SCADA, EMS, and control system integration.
  • Experience with hybrid systems (PV + BESS) and microgrid configurations.
