As part of the System Intelligence program, this role contributes to the development of capabilities that enhance system performance, improve predictability, and enable differentiated performance guarantees. You will operate at the intersection of battery systems, software, controls, and analytics-translating complex technical and commercial inputs into clear product requirements and high-impact solutions. This role requires strong ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to align cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions.

This role offers the chance to work on some of Fluence's most innovative technology. Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and shape the product strategy and roadmap for System Intelligence capabilities, including the Fluence SBMS, performance analytics, and intelligent control features.

  • Translate strategic objectives into clearly defined product requirements and prioritized initiatives, balancing customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.

  • Develop a clear understanding of customer operational challenges and value drivers for BESSs, and ensure product features are tightly linked to quantifiable customer value through financial modeling (e.g. lifetime extension, revenue uplift, TCO reduction).

  • Identify opportunities to increase customer value through joint hardware, software, and analytics work.

  • Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to validate problem statements, product direction, and roadmap priorities.

  • Partner closely with hardware, software, analytics, and commercial teams to ensure intended behavior is delivered reliably and at scale.

  • Support cross-functional engineering teams in day-to-day problem-solving, enabling them to progress successfully toward target milestones.

  • Support regional sales and marketing teams in customer conversations and generating sales material around systems intelligence.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.

  • 3+ years of product management experience, including experience owning complex, system-level products in renewable energy, energy storage systems, battery analytics, or battery systems.

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in leading engineering teams to achieve ambitious goals.

  • Proven ability to define product direction and value in ambiguous problem spaces.

  • Experience in interpreting and constructing business cases, including discounted cash flow modeling, IRR, and NPV calculations, for BESS or renewable energy projects.

  • System-level understanding of the key components of a battery energy storage system and its applications.

  • Clear, structured, and motivating communicator who can turn complexity into clarity for both technical and commercial stakeholders.

  • Periodic time zone flexibility to support customers and colleagues across the world.

  • Ability to travel internationally (~25% of the time).
