Job description

Imperia Batteries, a division of Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI), located in Methuen, Massachusetts, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. As Imperia expands from cell‑level battery development into complete battery system design, we are looking for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on product development and wants to play a key role in designing next‑generation battery systems.

This position offers the opportunity to work on the complete product development cycle, from concept and design through prototyping, testing, and validation. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop innovative battery systems for a variety of applications.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with hands‑on electrical design, prototype build, integration, and testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Required Experience

The ideal candidate will have experience in several of the following areas:

  • High‑power switching circuits
  • Low‑power analog and digital circuit design
  • Embedded firmware development
  • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
  • Electronic schematic capture
  • Printed circuit board (PCB) layout
  • Hardware debugging and laboratory testing
Preferred Experience

Experience with the following tools would be considered an advantage:

  • Oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies / lab equipment.
  • LTspice
  • MS Office suite

Experience with battery systems, lithium‑ion batteries, or energy storage products is also desirable.

Training

Training will be provided in areas where additional knowledge is required. We are looking for motivated engineers with a strong technical foundation and a willingness to learn and grow with the company.

Pay Range:

The estimated annual base salary range for this role is $100K–$125K. The actual salary offered will depend on the candidate’s experience, education, and specialized skills.
