What is a battery associate?

Battery Associates are professionals who handle, maintain, and replace batteries in various equipment, such as forklifts, vehicles, or industrial machinery. Their responsibilities often include inspecting battery performance, ensuring safe charging and storage, and keeping accurate maintenance records. Battery Associates play a crucial role in maintaining uninterrupted operations in warehouses, manufacturing plants, and distribution centers by ensuring that equipment batteries are in good working condition.

What challenges do battery associates face in a warehouse environment?

Battery Associates often encounter challenges such as handling heavy or hazardous battery materials, adhering to strict safety protocols, and ensuring accurate inventory management. The role typically requires attention to detail when inspecting, charging, or replacing batteries, as well as efficient communication with team members to minimize equipment downtime. Adapting to fast-paced, physically demanding environments and staying updated on proper disposal and recycling procedures are also important aspects of the job.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a battery associate?

To thrive as a Battery Associate, you need a solid understanding of battery technology, basic electrical knowledge, and experience with inventory management, typically supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with warehouse management systems, hand tools, and safety protocols for handling hazardous materials is often required. Attention to detail, effective communication, and strong organizational skills help ensure accuracy and safety in daily tasks. These skills and qualities are crucial for maintaining product integrity, workplace safety, and efficient operations in environments handling batteries.

Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW
TransGrid Energy is a renewable energy company focused on investing, developing, owning and operating utility-scale battery energy storage systems and PV projects. TransGrid has a robust pipeline of projects under construction and in late-stage development, and the Company is actively expanding its energy asset portfolio across the United States.
As an affiliate company of Hanwha Group, a FORTUNE Global 500 company driven by a firm commitment to advancing the clean energy future, TransGrid Energy is striving to shape the renewable energy landscape by providing sustainable and reliable power solutions tailored to meet the energy needs of today and tomorrow.
POSITION OVERVIEW
TransGrid Energy is seeking a highly analytical and technically capable Power Markets Associate to join its Asset Management team. This role will help turn large volumes of market, operational, and pricing data into actionable commercial intelligence that supports asset optimization, cash trading, risk awareness, and portfolio decision-making.
The Power Markets Associate will play a key role in building internal analytical infrastructure, automating reporting, improving transparency into market and asset performance, and supporting commercial strategy across TGE's growing fleet. The role requires a strong mix of power-market understanding, quantitative rigor, data-management capability, and business judgment.
The ideal candidate combines strong SQL / Python skills with a practical understanding of ISO/RTO market dynamics, nodal pricing behavior, congestion, ancillary services, and the commercial drivers that matter to a portfolio of battery and solar assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain internal data pipelines that ingest, clean, validate, and centralize market, weather, pricing, operational, and settlement data from external and internal sources.
  • Develop and manage scalable datasets and analytical tools that support asset optimization, cash trading, and portfolio-risk monitoring.
  • Query and analyze large time-series datasets to identify pricing patterns, congestion trends, basis exposure, volatility drivers, and other market signals relevant to TGE's assets.
  • Automate recurring workflows and reporting processes using SQL, Python, and related tools to reduce manual effort and improve speed, consistency, and control.
  • Create dashboards and reports that provide internal stakeholders with clear visibility into market conditions, portfolio performance, and key commercial risk indicators.
  • Support trading and asset-management decisions through quantitative analysis, scenario evaluation, and market intelligence.
  • Assist with settlement validation, collateral awareness, and post-trade or post-dispatch performance analysis.
  • Support onboarding of new assets, markets, and data sources by helping establish reporting structures, commercial views, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Monitor evolving ISO/RTO market rules, regulatory developments, and emerging market opportunities affecting BESS, solar, and related commercial strategies.
  • Work closely with Asset Management, trading, operations, finance, and third-party counterparties to ensure analytical work supports practical commercial execution.
  • Contributes to the development of a disciplined, scalable internal analytics capability that supports TGE's broader commercial buildout.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in power markets, asset optimization, commercial asset management, market operations, trading analytics, or related wholesale energy-market activity.
  • Strong SQL skills and demonstrated experience using Python, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, for data analysis, automation, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and convert raw information into useful commercial insight.
  • Experience building or supporting data workflows, automated reporting, or analytical tools used in business decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of core wholesale power-market concepts, including LMPs, Day-Ahead and Real-Time markets, congestion, basis risk, and ancillary services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately under time pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical findings in a clear, concise business format.
  • Ability to work effectively across commercial, operational, and financial teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supporting BESS bidding, renewable asset optimization, or cash-market trading activity.
  • Familiarity with ISO/RTO markets such as CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, or MISO.
  • Experience with market-modeling, trading, or scheduling tools such as Dayzer, PROMOD, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other business-intelligence / visualization tools.
  • Experience supporting hedge analysis, settlement review, collateral monitoring, or P&L attribution.
  • Working knowledge of VBA, statistical methods, or predictive modeling techniques relevant to power-market analysis.

ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious.
  • Able to connect technical analysis to practical commercial outcomes.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Able to balance rigor, speed, and business relevance.
  • Interested in developing into a deeper commercial market and asset-optimization role over time.
