Job description

DRUG/Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) TECHNICIAN


Job Summary

The drug/BAT technician position is a PRN, employed position involving being on call and being

called to the Wooster Community Hospital Emergency Department (WCH ED), the Bloomington

Medical Services NowClinic, or to a local company to perform drug screens and/or breath

alcohol tests.


Reports To

This position reports to the assigned Practice Manager.


Essential Functions

 Certify and when due, re-certify, to perform drug screens and breath alcohol tests.

 Schedule to work on call shifts on a monthly basis, giving a two-week notice when expected to be unavailable (except in cases of emergency).

 When called in, appear at the designated facility within 30 minutes to perform requested testing.

 Complete/submit the required paperwork for testing.

 When required, send specimen to the designated lab for initial or additional testing.

 Record on call and call in hours, submitting them to the assigned Practice Manager at the end of the payroll period.

 Notify the appropriate person of the need for additional testing supplies.

 Communicate results to the appropriate person.
