Job Summary:

The Social Media Content Coordinator will help drive the Atlanta Hawks' social media presence by creating, capturing, and publishing content across our digital platforms. This roleis responsible forexecuting day-to-day social media efforts, including content creation, live event coverage, and content distribution. You are a creative storyteller with a passion for sports, an eye for engaging content, and a strong understanding of social media trends and platform best practices. You thrive in fast-paced environments, canidentifycompelling moments in real time, and are always looking for new ways to connect with fans through culturally relevant content. You have experience shooting and editing social-first content, a pulse on basketball and pop culture, and a drive to create memorable digital experiences that grow and engage our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Coverage

  • Lead shooting and editing of social-first content for all Atlanta Hawks social media channels and other channels as assigned (e.g.,College Park Skyhawks, Harry the Hawk, and State Farm Arena channels).

  • Provide on-site coverage for all home games, road games, and select community events where you will be capturing real-time highlights and behind-the-scenes access.

  • Monitor and translate real-time social trends and viral conversations into relevant content for the Hawks brand across all platforms.

Distribution & Publishing

  • Manage the daily distribution and publishing of content across our social media ecosystem, ensuring each post isoptimizedwith platform-specific copy, tags, and native features.

  • Maintain forward-looking social posting calendars and coordinate scheduling of organic and sponsored content with Social Media Directors.

Project Management

  • Serve as the project lead for assigned social media campaigns, managing timelines, asset trafficking, and cross-departmental approvals.

  • Coordinate with the Creative and Content teams on assets for upcoming social projects, ensuring all social-first requirements are clearly communicated.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain a basic level of analytical oversight bymonitoringpost-performance andassistingin pulling Top-Line stats for campaign recaps as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience managing social media for a brand or equivalent experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience with sports-specific content capture and highlight-clipping software (Clipro,AvGen, etc.) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, deliverables, and deadlines.

  • High attention to detail with the ability to learn and adapt to the Atlanta Hawks' brand voice, ensuring all social copy isaccurateand projects are completed on schedule.

  • Extensive knowledge of the social media landscape, including a solid understanding of best practices across X, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube.

  • Proficiencyin mobile-first video editing. Professional software like Adobe Premiere/Photoshop is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of the NBA and basketball culture required, along withthe abilitytoidentifykey moments, player narratives, and context in real time.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence partners without direct authority.

  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.Close
