ROLE SUMMARY
Basketball Instructors at Solar Swim and Gym will be responsible for conducting basketball lessons for multiple clients of different age, abilities, and skill level. At times, Basketball Instructors may be asked to perform ad hoc business-related duties as well. This role typically reports to the Manager.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to)
• Develop and implement engaging basketball training sessions, drills, and activities tailored to the needs and skill levels of participants.
• Provide individualized instruction and feedback to help players improve their fundamental skills, technique, and overall game performance.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development.
• Evaluate players' progress and adjust coaching strategies as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff members to plan and coordinate basketball programs, camps, clinics, and events.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and guardians regarding program expectations, schedules, and player development goals.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during training sessions and events.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience playing basketball.
• Proven coaching experience, either as a player-coach or as a dedicated coach, with a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and game mechanics.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and communicate effectively with players of all ages and backgrounds.
• Current knowledge of best practices in basketball training, conditioning, and injury prevention.
• Ability to adapt coaching techniques to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute structured training sessions and programs.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
