Miami, FL | Full-Time MIAMI DADE COUNTY PHYSICAL
Summary
The PG Occupational Health X-Ray Technician is primarily responsible for all X-Rays needed on site, for scheduling, performing, and obtaining x-ray reports for the physicians, and for the proper and accurate functioning of the x-ray machine. It is the link between the clinic and the Radiology Department and ensures accuracy of process and correct completion of images in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
  • Prepares each patient for x-rays. Performs basic and limited x-rays (chest) as indicated by the physician.
  • Schedules, performs, and obtains x-ray reports.
  • It is the link between the clinic and the radiology department.
  • Works closely with the PACS team.
  • Responsible for good functioning and maintenance of x-ray machine.
  • Collects and prepares specimen (including drawing blood and collecting urine), performs basic lab tests, disposes of contaminated supplies.
  • Operates and maintains facilities and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for all equipment used in clinic for the testing of patients, proper functioning, and maintenance.
  • Responsible for all supplies, distribution of supplies to our clinics, and for keeping accurate inventory of all supplies.
  • Orients patients to clinic policies and procedures and designated area as needed. Draws blood and performs EKGs.
  • Ensures daily that all rooms are appropriately stocked at all times.
  • Operates Electronic Health System, schedules patients, checks patient in, out, enters orders, activates orders, charting, discharges, and scanning of records.
  • Responsible for all X-Rays needed on site, for scheduling, performing, and obtaining x-ray reports for physician.
  • Assists physicians with examination and treatment of patients, administration of injections and vaccines, operating basic medical equipment, collecting laboratory specimen.
  • Responsible for providing patient care and performing clerical duties in a physician practice setting.
  • Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Experience
Generally, requires 1 to 3 years of related experience.
Education
High school diploma is required.
Skill
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Credentials
Basic X-Ray Machine Operator License granted by the State of Florida Department of Health. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
