RESUMEN DE LA POSICIÓN:

El Operador Básico de Rayos X es responsable de realizar una variedad de procedimientos de diagnóstico por imágenes, principalmente radiografías, para ayudar a los médicos en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de los pacientes.


DEBERES Y RESPONSABILIDADES:

Las responsabilidades incluyen, pero no se limitan a:

  • Ayudar a los pacientes en la preparación para los exámenes y asegurar la posición física adecuada para la exposición requerida en todo tipo de estudios radiológicos.
  • Explicar a los pacientes el proceso y los procedimientos radiológicos y obtener el consentimiento para los procedimientos diagnósticos.
  • Realizar y/o asistir en procedimientos radiográficos y fluoroscópicos, manteniendo la máxima seguridad del paciente.
  • Documentar registros y otros formularios con precisión, cumpliendo estrictamente con las políticas y procedimientos aprobados.
  • Mantener un entorno de trabajo seguro, protegido y saludable siguiendo las normas y procedimientos y cumpliendo con las regulaciones legales.
  • Garantizar el cumplimiento de los estándares profesionales y de los requisitos legales, normativos y de seguridad pertinentes, incluidos HIPAA y OSHA.
  • Realizar otras funciones según se asignen.

CALIFICACIONES:

  • Diploma de escuela secundaria o equivalente.
  • Licencia de Técnico en Rayos X, y Certificación en RCP (CPR).
  • Mínimo dos (2) años de experiencia en un entorno clínico y/o hospitalario.
  • Conocimiento de la anatomía y fisiología necesarios para realizar estudios de rayos X.
  • Conocimiento del equipo de radiología, incluidos los riesgos de seguridad comunes en radiología.
  • Excelentes habilidades de servicio al cliente, documentación y manejo de programas informáticos.
  • Debe demostrar sólidas habilidades organizativas e interpersonales, atención al detalle y gestión del tiempo.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Basic X-Ray Machine Operator is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily X-rays, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist patients in preparation for examinations and ensure physical position for required exposure for all types of radiology.
  • Explain radiology process and procedure to patients and obtain consent for diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform and/or assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures while maintaining optimum patient safety.
  • Document records and other forms, accurately adhering to approved policies/procedures.
  • Keep inventory of radiology supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies.
  • Maintain constant and effective communication with all members of the team regarding consultations.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, relevant legal, regulatory and safety requirements of HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • X-Ray Technician License.
  • CPR certification
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a clinic and/or hospital setting.
  • Understanding of the anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment, including safety hazards common to radiology.
  • Outstanding customer service, documentation and computer program skills.
  • Must exhibit strong organizational, interpersonal skills, attention to detail and time management.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as required by business operations.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
