Your duties include ventilating patients, administering CPR, opening and maintaining an airway, providing therapy for shock, controlling bleeding, bandaging wounds, assisting with psychological crises, coaching emergency childbirth, and more, all while staying calm and professional. To prepare, it's important to stay physically fit, practice effective communication, and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure. Regular training, strong teamwork with paramedics and other EMTs, and debriefing after challenging calls can help Basic EMTs build resilience and improve their response to unexpected scenarios. Additionally, staying organized and familiar with local protocols ensures smoother and safer patient care.
