Process Solutions Specialist, Passenger Cars

We are looking for a Process Solutions Specialist to join our Automotive Refinish team in Whitehouse, OH. Come create chemistry with us! Our solutions are approved by the world's leading automotive manufacturers for the repair of their vehicles. We provide collision centers with a vast array of solutions that help drive their business performance and efficiency. At the heart of our business are our people and our trainers who take care of our customers' needs including car painting skills, advanced body shop management solutions, and sophisticated management solutions.

As a member of the ECR Process Applications team, you will be responsible for application evaluations of global and local products and systems with high focus on efficiencies and customer solutions with globally harmonized concepts. You will drive the implementation and development of competencies and skillsets for BASF and external personnel with technologies, products and process knowledge including training programs and methods according to strategic business objectives. The Process Solution Specialist role is critical in executing BASF's strategy to create new products and process solutions as a competitive advantage and will require an innovative thinker who can drive new digital solutions that elevate our products and processes and add value for our customers. To succeed in this role, you must possess strong technical skills in the automotive refinish industry and general knowledge of business operations in the collision repair industry. Travel will vary from 10-20%.

As a Process Solutions Specialist, Passenger Cars, you create chemistry by...

  • Conducting application evaluations of global & local products and systems (including competitor benchmark products, following global process application methods and measures to achieve product development technical profiles), determining industry best process efficiencies, supporting tenders &/or approvals for OEM, MSO and other target groups for business development and investigating complaints of Own Manufactured Product (OMP) and other BASF products and systems
  • Coordinating criteria, scope, method and procedures for field trials of global & local product development projects to validate market acceptance prior to launch, following global methods and reporting templates.
  • Capturing all application evaluation and field trial related data, summarizing outcomes and findings in global reporting templates and databases, and timely reporting of all activities.
  • Supporting marketing with technical and process content for creation and modification of BASF, OEM, MSO branded customer training content.
  • Implementing skills development, practical training and education seminars, to develop sustainable local expertise with Train-the-Trainer concepts by coaching internal and external technical team & trainers, and field technicians on products, process, application and repair methods.
  • Marketing launch support by implementing product, process and benefits know-how and evaluation methods and measures to undertake competitor benchmarks for local sustainable expertise following Train-the-Trainer concepts.
  • Setting market field support agendas with strong market up focus and global strategic requirements. Conducting field support activities, creating clear actions aligned with market and sustainable local expertise requirements. Summarizing outcomes and findings in global reporting templates, timely reporting of all market field support activities.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or have requisite refinish market experience
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of automotive technical management, process analysis and improvement, and project management or customer technical support experience showing increasing responsibilities; or 8-10 years experience working in a body shop environment as a painter with independence and problem-solving skills
  • Have demonstrated entrepreneurial drive and logical thinking
  • Have proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Have exceptional written and spoken English (additional languages are a benefit)
  • Are familiar working with Microsoft Office
