Job description

IKA Works, Inc is seeking a Service Technician to join our team and support operations in our Process Solutions Center located in Wilmington. This individual will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and assembly of IKA Process trial fleet machines and its auxiliary equipment; inhouse and field testing; and assisting the Process service department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform field testing, including machine setup, test execution, cleaning, and proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Clean, maintain, and organize all trial fleet machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Assemble, test, and evaluate trial units and components.
  • Complete detailed reports documenting evaluations of trial machines, parts, and performance.
  • Assist with customer repairs and support spare parts selection as needed.
  • Organize and maintain the pilot plant to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Provide technical assistance during start-up and deliver training for field trials at customer facilities.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge of mechanical systems and applications related to laboratory, analytical, and process equipment.
  • Support the Service and Assembly Departments as required.
  • Utilize analytical measurement equipment and instrumentation, including particle size analyzers, viscometers, and microscopes.

Requirements
  • Associate degree in Applied Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automotive Technology, or related field.
  • Results oriented, quality conscious individual with a minimum of two years of experience in assembly, auto mechanics or service-related field.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with basic chemistry knowledge.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Knowledge of SAP is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient college level mathematical skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read installation and assembly drawings and define spare parts.
  • Attention to detail is a must.

NOTE: This role may involve domestic and international travel to customer facilities and plant sites, using a variety of transportation methods including air, car, and train. A driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport are required.
