Job Description
Assists the head coach in the administration and leadership of the Radford University Division I Baseball program by providing coaching and instruction, recruiting, and facilitation of training and practice activities. The Assistant Baseball Coach will have the ability to organize and manage individual development plans for each player. Manage and organize recruiting for staff. Develop relationships with travel and high school coaches in the region and state. The Assistant Baseball Coach will provide information and evaluations regarding recruits, roster development, and game personnel.
Required Qualifications
An advanced degree in Sports Management, Business or a related ?eld or an equivalent level of education, training and work experience. Coaching and/or recruiting experience in baseball at the collegiate level. Ability to demonstrate and teach advanced skills, knowledge and strategies of the game of baseball. Knowledge of and experience working with NCAA recruiting and compliance procedures. Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment as to the manner and method of teaching and the ability to work independently without direct supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills and effective communication skills. Ability to provide effective leadership to student athletes to encourage both successful academic development and competitive performance. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports in a timely manner, particularly regarding athletic budget, eligibility, compliance and travel documentation. Understanding and implementation of Trackman, Synergy, and other technical programs.
