What are baseball statistics?

Baseball statistics are numerical data that record and analyze the performance of players and teams in the sport of baseball. These statistics include measurements such as batting average, home runs, runs batted in (RBIs), earned run average (ERA), and many more. They are used by coaches, players, analysts, and fans to evaluate and compare player performance, make strategic decisions, and track historical trends within the sport.
