Head Varsity Baseball Coach
Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School | Marine City, MI
Category: Athletics / Coaching
Status: Seasonal (Spring Season)
Reports to: Athletic Director
Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School is seeking a Head Baseball Coach to lead one of the most successful programs in the region. We are looking for a dynamic leader who possesses the tactical expertise to win at a high level and the character to mentor young men in alignment with our Catholic values.
The successful candidate will inherit a program built on a foundation of elite performance. Since 2018, the Cardinal Mooney Baseball program has achieved:
  • 7 Catholic League Division Titles
  • 7 District Championships
  • 4 Regional Championships
  • 2 MHSAA Final Four Appearances
  • 1 State Championship Game Appearance

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the baseball program (Varsity and JV), including skill development, practice planning, and game-day management.
  • Strategic Vision: Maintain and build upon the "championship culture" established over the last decade.
  • Mentorship: Foster an environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, academic excellence, and spiritual growth.
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for parents, student-athletes, and the athletic department.
  • Off-Season Development: Coordinate off-season conditioning, throwing programs, and camps to ensure long-term program sustainability.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proven Success: Prior coaching experience at the High School Varsity or Collegiate level is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Game: Deep understanding of MHSAA rules, advanced baseball strategy, and player development.
  • CHSL Familiarity: Understanding of the competitive landscape within the Catholic High School League (CHSL) is a plus.
  • Mission-Driven: A commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Certification: Must meet all MHSAA coaching requirements (CAP training, CPR/First Aid) or be willing to obtain them prior to the season.
