Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Product Coordinator supports the planning, development, and execution of a defined product line within our equipment category. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sports, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how high-performance products are brought to life—from concept to market. Work closely with cross-functional teams, helping manage product data and timelines, assisting in market and consumer analysis, and ensuring the successful execution of product launches.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Product Support & Development: Assist in the creation of product briefs, specifications, and documentation for new product concepts. Support cross-functional teams (Design, R&D, Sourcing) throughout development stages. Help track prototypes, testing feedback, and product samples. Maintain accurate product information, SKU setup, and updates in product management systems.
  • Market & Consumer Insights: Conduct basic category research, competitive scans, and trend analysis. Gather athlete and consumer feedback to support product decision-making. Help analyze sales and performance data to identify opportunities and gaps.
  • Project Coordination: Assist in managing product timelines, calendars, and key milestone deliverables. Coordinate sample requests, product meetings, and cross-functional communication. Support the development and preparation of presentations for line reviews and product updates.
  • Go-to-Market Support: Collaborate with Marketing on launch materials, product stories, and asset needs. Work with Sales to prepare assortment tools, product decks, and account support materials. Help review packaging copy, instructions, and product information for accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • This is a full-time position
  • Typical work hours and days are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • This position is based out of the Costa Mesa, CA office
  • Some travel may occur (usually less than 10%), domestic or international.
  • This position requires in-office attendance at least 4 days per week (subject to increase in the future).

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

  • The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
  • The salary range for this role in Costa Mesa, CA is $65,000 - $75,000. or could be an hourly position depending on experience.
  • In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position does not have supervisory duties.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Design, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in product management, merchandising, marketing, or relevant internships (sporting goods/outdoor preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with data and basic analytics.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Passion for sports, fitness, and innovative athletic equipment.
  • Have experience with baseball or basketball products, with a strong understanding of the sporting goods industry. Demonstrates knowledge of product development, athlete needs, and market trends within team sports.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to: be in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasionally move about inside the office to access fine cabinets, office machinery (such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.); constantly operate a computer; occasionally ascend/descend stairs; constantly position self to maintain files in file cabinets; the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feed of the observer); and frequently move boxes weighing up to 15 pounds across office for various needs. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions if projects/opportunities arise. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
