The VOLUNTEER i9 SPORTS COACH AND OFFICIAL is a critical role in any sports field; responsible for teaching the fundamentals about the game, rules, sportsmanship values while also cultivating a positive culture, taking on the responsibility of an on-field coach, and advocating for the teaching kids life missions through the programs. This role has a direct impact on players, and spectators each and every game day.
Responsibilities
  • Understand & enforce the i9 Sports rules books ensuring a fun, learning, and safety for all players
  • Teach & demonstrate core concepts including Sportsmanship values
  • Keep time and score during the game; manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition
  • Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
  • Cover coaching for volunteer coaches who don't show up at the assigned time
  • Report to the respective Sports CoordinatorS and Site Managers
  • You feel good bringing happiness and joy to others and love to be a positive influence in families lives

Qualifications
  • Verbal & communication skills
  • Sport-specific officiating, playing, or coaching experience
  • Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently, solve problems and be proactive
  • Awareness & ability to take charge of any situation to ensure the safety of players
  • Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional relationships
  • Ability to work every Saturday 9am-12:30PM
  • Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check

THIS IS A NON-PAID POSITION TO VOLUNTEER TO COACH KIDS EVERY SATURDAY. THE OWNERS ARE VERY OPEN AND ACCEPTING OF STUDENTS, ADULTS, YOUNG TEENS AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO HAVE A POSITIVE EFFECT ON A KIDS LIFE. YOU WILL RECEIVE GIFT CARDS, FOOD, LOTS OF KUDOS FROM PARENTS AND KIDS AS WELL AS VOLUNTEER CREDIT OR INTERNSHIPS GIVEN IN THE FORM OF LETTER OF RECOMMENDATIONS. IF YOU DO WELL IN THE PROGRAM YOU MAY BE OFFERED A PERMANENT PAID POSITION.
Compensation: $19.00 per hour
