SUMMARY:

The BAS Project Engineer (BAS PE) reports to the BAS and Commissioning Manager and is responsible for performing a range of activities that requires an individual possessing traits of decisiveness, initiative, tact, judgment, integrity, dependability and the ability to communicate in a technically credible manner. Job-related contact can occur with virtually all demographic groups with the majority of working contacts being clients, vendors, other CES employees and the CES Project Manager.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinates construction scheduling and communication and acts as liaison to project management concerning bids, subcontracting, progress and delays. May be responsible for estimates, schedules, materials and purchase orders. Assists with supervision of the installation of equipment and components in assigned field
  • Prepare submittals and contact lists
  • Copies prints, inspection and as-built logs
  • Facilitates kick-off meetings
  • Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel. May study schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements of job completion.
  • Interpret plans, specifications and new job orders as required
  • Prepares cost code breakdowns and schedules of values
  • Prepare purchase orders for bought equipment and bulk items
  • Updates material status log
  • Quote and log change orders
  • Job close out: Participates in project manager's meeting Consult with clients, vendors and project managers for the purpose of formulating detail project needs, installation coordination drawings and analyze and resolve conflict.
  • Maintain daily reports and other similar records
  • Perform related duties as directed by the project manager
  • Perform clerical functions as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Non-Essential Duties:

  • Cross-train within the department to provide back-up coverage as needed
  • Use self-initiative to remain current with industry trends (engage in webinars, virtual conferences, educational reading, etc.)
  • Accept and perform other work as assigned

Education and Experience

  • 5 + years of successful and full- time experience in craft or a Bachelor's degree.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and graduate of a post-secondary program of instruction of two or more years in duration or completion of apprenticeship program or similar training program required
