Job description

POSITION:                       

  • BAS Project Manager – Retrofit & New Construction

HYBRID REMOTE-FLEXIBILITY:

  • Go into office on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Check on project sites about 25-30% (estimated)
  • Remainder is optional work-from-home

LOCATION:                      

  • Metro Market: Chicago, IL
  • Office Location: Oak Brook, IL

ABOUT The COMPANY:

  • Tier 1 - Large Energy & Automation Solutions Company
  • Solutions: Commercial Buildings, Data Centers, Infrastructure, Software Engineering, etc.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Years of experience project managing Building Automation projects
  • Ability to read specs and, Controls drawings, understand Sequences, follow S.O.P.s, be comfortable on a job-site, etc.
  • PLUS (not required) – PMP

PROJECT PORTFOLIO:

  • Running $2-3 Million – could be around 5 projects
  • Will have a Project Engineers (in the Field) and Project Coordinating team for documentation help

RESPONSIBILITIES:         

  • Project Manage retrofit and new construction controls projects for General Contractors/Large Mechanical companies
    • Maintain Project Scope and Milestones/hitting customer goals
    • Act as a liaison between the customers and technical teams
  • Rarely will project manage a service project if the projects/plan-&-spec side is slow
  • Participate in weekly PM meetings via MS Teams on Fridays
  • Attend resource planning meeting for weekly scheduling
  • Responsible for project Financial Forecasting and project budgeting
  • Responsible for Change Orders and AIA invoicing but will receive help from the Project Coordinator to finalize and submit them
  • Responsible for equipment procurement/items getting ordered and delivered. Able to delegate work to the Project Coordinator
  • Manage subcontractors and set up the contracts/negotiate terms
  • Reports to the Operations Manager and will meet for a monthly full project / cost project review
