Indotronix is seeking an :Facilities Controls / Equipment Engineer 4,

Location :Charleston, SC or Berkeley, MO or Huntsville, AL or Ridley Park, PA.

 Hybrid - working 3 days onsite 2 days remote
currently located/residing within 60 miles of a Boeing site
This is a hybrid position, requiring up to 25% travel

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support Building Management Systems (BMS), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and enterprise SCADA platforms. This role will focus on troubleshooting, system integration, network communications, and operational support for building and infrastructure monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and support BMS/BAS controllers, field devices, sensors, and SCADA integrations.

  • Analyze alarms, faults, and network communication issues; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Support enterprise SCADA rollout, connectivity, and system integration activities.

  • Troubleshoot industrial communication protocols including BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP/RTU, and Ethernet/IP.

  • Review and maintain technical documentation, control diagrams, network architecture, and commissioning reports.

  • Generate monthly system performance and incident resolution reports for leadership.

  • Coordinate with engineering, facilities, IT/cybersecurity, vendors, and contractors to support projects and operational initiatives.

  • Provide technical oversight to third-party integrators and service providers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.

  • 8+ years of experience with Building Automation Systems, SCADA systems, and industrial controls.

  • Experience with communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP.

  • Experience troubleshooting industrial communication networks using diagnostic tools and network analyzers.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and working with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.

  • Experience with building controls platforms such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls (Metasys), Siemens Desigo, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, or Trane.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related engineering experience.

  • Experience supporting production, facilities, supply chain, or IT operations.

  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting building automation and control systems.

  • Experience managing contractors and executing controls projects from design through commissioning.

  • Experience with advanced analytics and AI-based monitoring tools.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years of related experience.

  • ABET accreditation preferred but not required.
